Cynthia (Cindy) Lawley, PhD, is Senior Director of Global Population Health and Scientific Strategy at Olink, part of Thermo Fisher Scientific. She spent more than fourteen years at Illumina, where she founded and led the company's Consortia Program and worked with partners to build dozens of array and sequencing projects aimed at understanding genetic risk across diverse populations, earning several US government Excellence in Technology Transfer awards for that work. She joined Olink in 2020, shortly after the launch of the Explore platform, which uses next-generation sequencing as a high-throughput proteomic readout. She works with major population genomics programmes, including the UK Biobank, to combine proteomics, genomics and deep phenotyping. She co-hosts the Proteomics in Proximity podcast and serves on the scientific advisory board of the Gloucester Marine Genomics Institute.
