Dr Björn Zoëga is Chief Executive Officer of King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre in Riyadh, a role the hospital's board extended in early 2026 through 2030 in recognition of his leadership. He is an Icelandic orthopaedic surgeon who previously served as director of Landspitali, Iceland's national university hospital, and as director of Karolinska University Hospital in Sweden.
