Vice President, Health Sector

Vice President for the Health Sector at King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST), and a senior researcher and executive with close to fifteen years of research and management experience. Before her current appointment she directed KACST's National Centre for Genomic Technologies and Bioinformatics. She earned her PhD in experimental dermatology and genetics from the University of Queensland School of Medicine in Australia and completed her postdoctoral training at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre, and she holds an MBA from London Business School with a focus on strategy, leadership and organisational behaviour. A licensed consultant in molecular genetics, she chairs the national committee of bioethics and the national committee for biosafety and biological diversity, and publishes in peer-reviewed journals.
