Alex Aliper, PhD, is President and Co-Founder of Insilico Medicine, where he pioneered the application of artificial intelligence to multi-omics data for drug discovery, drug repurposing, generative chemistry and generative biology, and helped put an AI-designed drug candidate into human clinical trials. He built a team of more than one hundred AI engineers developing software for target discovery, small-molecule generation and clinical-trial outcome prediction. Deep Knowledge Analytics named him among the Top 100 AI Leaders in Drug Discovery and Advanced Healthcare, and Endpoint News listed him among the top twenty biotechnology executives under forty in 2020. He is based in Abu Dhabi, where he oversees the software teams behind many of Insilico's therapeutic programmes at the company's Quantum Computing and AI R&D Centre in Masdar City.
