Yousef Aldayni

Researcher and Writer

Youssef Al-Deini is a Saudi researcher and writer whose work addresses Islamist movements, the history of ideological groups and shifts in religious and intellectual discourse across the region. He writes regularly in the Arab press and takes part in programmes and seminars on extremism, its roots and the paths to addressing it. His work rests on reading these movements' literature in its original texts and setting it against the historical and social context that produced it, with attention to processes of intellectual revision and the changes in discourse they produce.
