Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi

Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi is Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, taking office in February 2023 in succession to Dr Nayef Al-Hajraf. A Kuwaiti diplomat, he previously served as his country's Ambassador to the United States and Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Iran, with decades of diplomatic experience covering Gulf and international relations. In his current role he heads the Council's General Secretariat and follows up Supreme Council decisions on economic, defence and security integration among the six member states.
