Naif bin Ali Al-Qanoor

Dr Naif bin Ali Al-Qanoor is Director of the Archaeological Sites Department at the Heritage Commission, the Ministry of Culture body responsible for protecting, registering and rehabilitating national heritage. His work covers overseeing the Kingdom's archaeological sites — documenting, protecting, restoring and preparing them for visitors — including those inscribed on the World Heritage List such as Hegra, Diriyah, Historic Jeddah and Himā. His interests lie in excavation and archaeological survey and in balancing public access with protection from damage.
