Dr Abdullah bin Othman Al-Kharashi is Associate Professor of History at King Saud University in Riyadh. His field covers the history of the Arabian Peninsula and the Saudi state and its sources, documents and correspondence. His duties include teaching, supervising graduate research and publishing in peer-reviewed journals, extending to the critical editing of historical texts. His interests lie in source-criticism method and in reading local documents in context, and in training younger researchers in the historian's tools for handling narrative and report.
