Abdulhakim bin Abdulrahman Al-Awwad
Researcher in the History and Culture of Diriyah and the First Saudi State
Dr Abdulhakim bin Abdulrahman Al-Awwad is a researcher in the history and culture of Diriyah and of the First Saudi State, founded there in 1727. His work covers the architecture of Diriyah and the At-Turaif district inscribed on the World Heritage List, the system of governance and the social and economic life of the period, and the sources and documents recording its course up to its fall in 1818. His interest extends to connecting historical research with the Diriyah development project as a restoration of a founding site in national memory.
