Yusuf Hasan

Senior Aviation Security Advisor

Yusuf Hasan is a Senior Aviation Security Advisor at the International Civil Aviation Organization and sits on the Future Security Summit advisory committee as well as speaking at it. ICAO is a specialised agency of the United Nations that sets the standards and recommended practices member states follow in civil aviation. In security, its remit includes reviewing national programmes through the Universal Security Audit Programme, and supporting states where gaps appear with corrective action plans and training. An advisory role here combines reading audit findings, drafting technical guidance and moving practice between states, a vantage point from which the gap between what states write in their programmes and what is actually done at airports is visible.
