Mohammad Alries is Corporate Security Head at New Murabba, the developer of the new downtown Riyadh project built around the Mukaab together with commercial, residential and cultural space north of the capital. Corporate security at a large property developer covers two distinct layers: securing the facility under construction, including sites, equipment, workforce and stores, and securing the destination once operational, when it becomes a public place receiving large crowds. Moving between those layers is the hardest part of the post, because arrangements that protect a closed construction site do not suit an open venue, and because the surveillance and access control systems that will run later must be built during the construction phase itself.
