Waleed Marji is a regional sales manager at Thales and has led the digital banking portfolio across the region since 2019. Over that period he has become one of the region's recognised voices on authentication strategy for banks and financial institutions, helping them move past static, one-size-fits-all multi-factor authentication towards risk-based models that hold up in practice. His expertise spans both sides of the equation, fraud prevention and customer experience, built through years of hands-on work with the teams responsible for each, and his sessions address why conventional multi-factor authentication often fails customers and fraud teams alike. He works with financial institutions on identity, payment security and the trade-offs between friction and protection in digital channels.
