Shilpi Handa is IDC's associate research director for security and trust in the Middle East and Africa. She leads the firm's Middle East and Africa Security Strategies service, which analyses cybersecurity trends across hardware, software, services and skills, and examines market direction, customer preferences and purchasing behaviour in areas such as zero trust, attack surface management, ransomware defence and managed detection and response. Her work maps how the regional security agenda is shaped by rapid digital acceleration, an evolving regulatory landscape and the spread of advanced threats across IT, operational technology and cloud environments. She authors IDC MarketScape vendor assessments for the Gulf region, contributes to IDC's innovator recognitions in areas such as financial crime management, and speaks regularly at IDC CISO roundtables, security roadshows and awards programmes across the region.
