Shahin Hashim

Associate Research Director, Middle East, Turkey and Africa

Shahin Hashim is an associate research director within IDC's enterprise infrastructure research domain, covering the Middle East, Turkey and Africa. He is IDC's lead analyst on storage and compute infrastructure software platforms, and his research tracks how organisations in the region build and modernise core infrastructure for AI workloads, hybrid cloud and data resilience. He is a regular contributor to IDC's regional programmes and roundtables on AI-era compute economics, sovereign and resilient IT, and datacentre modernisation, where he advises technology suppliers and enterprise buyers on infrastructure investment priorities. Before joining IDC he worked in cloud and security platform engineering, rising to manager of cloud and security platform engineering at the telecom operator du in the United Arab Emirates, following earlier systems administration and technical support roles. He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Calicut.
