Sarah Sarah

Microbiology Registrar

Sarah Sarah is a microbiology registrar at Te Toka Tumai Auckland in New Zealand, with a clinical and academic interest in antimicrobial resistance. Her research addresses the genomic determinants of resistance to newer agents, including cefiderocol, and comparative resistance signatures among carbapenemase-producing Enterobacterales that differ in their susceptibility to aztreonam and avibactam. Work of this kind sits at the point where sequencing data has to be translated into something a clinical microbiology laboratory can report and a treating clinician can act on.
