Salim Sami Ghandorah is Director of Development and Enabling at the Saudi Center for Organ Transplantation, the national body that governs organ donation and transplantation in the Kingdom. Transplantation depends on laboratory work that most patients never see: tissue typing, crossmatching and antibody screening determine whether an organ can be offered to a given recipient at all. His work concerns the national mission around that system, and the shift from treating laboratories as a compliance requirement to positioning them as strategic partners in donation and transplant outcomes.
