Director of Cytopathology Laboratory

Majed Pharaon is a consultant anatomical and clinical pathologist specialising in head and neck pathology and cytopathology, and is Director of the cytopathology laboratory at King Abdulaziz Medical City, National Guard Health Affairs, in Riyadh. Cytopathology works from small samples where morphology alone is often insufficient to reach a confident answer, and his practice covers the selective use of molecular testing in thyroid and gynaecological cytopathology, where targeted assays can resolve indeterminate categories and change whether a patient proceeds to surgery.
