Majd Yousef Abdulghani is Genomics Lead at Lean Business Services and the first Saudi Rhodes Scholar. His work concerns the national infrastructure of precision health: the data platforms, pipelines and standards through which genomic information becomes usable at population scale. That places bioinformatics at the centre of his field, since a sequencing run produces raw data that only becomes a clinical answer after alignment, variant calling, annotation and interpretation, each step carrying assumptions that determine what the laboratory is ultimately able to report.
