Hanouf Al Hamdan
Research Scientist, Public Health Laboratory
Hanouf Al Hamdan is a research scientist at the Public Health Laboratory of the Public Health Authority in Saudi Arabia, holding a PhD in bioinformatics and viral evolution. Her research centres on genomic surveillance and infectious disease data analysis in support of evidence-based public health decisions. Genomic surveillance depends on the chain running from specimen collection through sequencing to phylogenetic analysis, and on the interpretation that turns a set of genomes into a statement about how an outbreak is spreading and what should be done about it.
