Philip Wooller

Area Director, Middle East and Africa

Philip Wooller is Area Director for the Middle East and Africa at STR, the hotel benchmarking and analytics firm that is part of CoStar Group. Based in Dubai, he is responsible for STR's expansion across the region and works with hotel owners, operators, consultants, investors and tourism authorities on performance data such as occupancy, average daily rate and revenue per available room, and he regularly presents regional market outlooks at hospitality investment conferences. He spent around two decades working in hotels before moving into data, holding roles in operations and management, sales, marketing and revenue management with Britannia Hotels, Thistle Hotels, InterContinental Hotels and Crown Hotels, across both branded and independent properties in Europe and the Middle East. He joined The Bench in 2006 as director of sales and transferred to STR in 2008, when The Bench, HotelBenchmark by Deloitte and STR were brought together to form the group's international division. He holds a degree in hospitality management from Bournemouth University.
