Nawaf Almutairi

Director, Tourism Hospitality Facilities Advisory Services Department

Nawaf Almutairi is a Saudi tourism official whose work sits where public policy meets hospitality operations. His specialism is tourism policy, regulatory frameworks and the governance of the hospitality sector in line with Saudi Vision 2030 - the body of licensing standards, operating requirements and classification criteria that governs tourism hospitality facilities across the Kingdom, from hotels and serviced apartments to heritage properties and rural lodges. Within the Ministry of Tourism he directs the advisory services function for those facilities, the side of the regulator whose purpose is to help operators and investors interpret and meet requirements rather than simply to enforce them. He reached that work from the commercial side of the industry: his earlier career covered luxury hotel operations, hotel pre-opening management and hospitality advisory, experience that gives him a practical reading of how regulation lands on the people who have to run a property to it.
