Hamed Aldabbour is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of House of Cenmar and the designer who guides its creative direction. The brand was founded in 2016 and launched in London in 2017; its name echoes an Arabic word for the moon, and its collections blend craftsmanship, heritage and avant-garde style in a fusion of East and West. Aldabbour draws on Arabian customs, traditions and symbols, the hues of sand dunes and nature, and the imagery of the wolf for leadership and loyalty and the falcon for freedom, with every collection designed in-house. House of Cenmar works with partners in more than 10 countries and has taken part in the Milan and Paris fashion weeks. Its social initiatives have included free COVID-19 social-distancing T-shirts, sponsorship of football teams, the use of recycled and organic fabrics, and support for an event for children with cancer.
