Walid Khoury

Walid Khoury is a member of the 2025-26 Board of Trustees of the Water Environment Federation, an international organisation of water quality professionals headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia. He is the founder of Desalytics, a company he established in 2020 and has led as chief executive to address water challenges in sub-Saharan Africa. Across 25 years in the water industry he has held leadership roles at Fortune 500 companies, among them GE Water and Process Technologies and the Danaher water platform, with responsibility spanning commercial strategy, operational management and inclusive leadership, and a record of putting sustainable growth strategies into practice. He is an outspoken advocate for diversity in the water sector and for moving more women into its leadership, on the view that stronger female representation sharpens innovation and answers the needs of diverse communities more fully. He holds a master's degree in management from Harvard University, and a bachelor's degree in water and environment engineering together with a master's degree in water sciences from Saint Joseph University.
