Gaber Abdellatif
PhD Researcher
Gaber Abdellatif is a specialised researcher in water reuse and the circular economy, working on sustainable resource policy and management across the Middle East and North Africa, with research that draws on advanced modelling and economic analysis to put circular solutions into practice. He coordinates research activities for the ReWater+ project at the International Water Management Institute, covering the policy, socio-economic and water quality monitoring dimensions of water reuse in Arab States, and in Egypt and Jordan in particular. His technical background was formed during a period at Wageningen Environmental Research, where he contributed to national-scale models for Egypt, among them the Ribasim water allocation model and the NASME agricultural economic model, work that matters for assessing the viability of non-conventional water sources in a water system as complex as Egypt's. He also brings a governance perspective, having previously developed national policy for water service and groundwater pricing in Saudi Arabia.
