Qais Al-Oweiti
PhD Student
Qais N. Al-Oweiti is a fully funded doctoral student in mechanical engineering at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals in Saudi Arabia, where his work centres on desalination, thermal systems and sustainable energy applications. He began his research career on energy recovery and thermoelectric generation, including hybrid thermoelectric generator radiator systems that deliver both space heating and electrical power. During his doctorate he moved into desalination, contributing to studies of hybrid multi effect and membrane desalination systems and of renewable powered reverse osmosis integrated with battery, hydrogen and pumped hydro storage. His current research concentrates on batch reverse osmosis, combining fundamental analysis with technoeconomic assessment. His broader interests cover energy efficient desalination, hybrid water treatment systems and the design of renewable driven processes.
