Samer Adham is a specialist in advanced water treatment technologies, and his work covers the treatment of produced and process water from petroleum operations. He has served as principal investigator on several research projects and has provided recommendations for operational excellence at QatarEnergy LNG. He is also an adjunct professor in the Center for Advanced Materials at Qatar University, taking part in research on the development of novel nanostructured materials. He was previously vice president of the Applied Research Department at MWH, now Stantec, where he ran leading-edge research programmes addressing the environmental challenges facing municipal and industrial stakeholders in water treatment and desalination. He has received several international awards of excellence and has taken part in conferences worldwide as a global expert on advanced water treatment technologies. He has authored more than 150 journal publications, 400 conference papers, six patents and 200 invited presentations.
