Capt. Tai bin Abdulrahman Alshammari is the Chief Executive Officer of the National Transport Safety Center (NTSC) and a seasoned expert in the transport industry. Throughout his career he has remained committed to driving progress and innovation by continuously exploring emerging opportunities, while keeping a strong focus on monitoring and raising safety standards across the transport sector. He leads a center established under Council of Ministers Resolution No. 212 as the national reference for safety investigations across air, land, rail and maritime transport in Saudi Arabia, with legal personality and financial and administrative independence. Its remit covers investigating serious accidents, identifying their root causes and contributing factors, issuing preventive safety recommendations, and providing technical consultancy, studies and training. Under his leadership the center has signed memoranda of understanding with the Ministry of Defense to support investigations into serious accidents involving the ministry's aircraft, with King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, with the emirates of the Hail and Al-Jouf regions, and with the Insurance Authority and the National Center for Meteorology. He has described the inauguration of the center's headquarters, which houses a transport safety observatory platform, a round-the-clock operations control center and a training hall, as an important milestone that will raise its capabilities in monitoring, analysis and safety investigations and build specialised national talent.
