Partner and Head of Middle East and Africa

Dr. Sherif ElKholy is a Partner and Head of the Middle East and Africa at Actis, a British investment house specialising in long-life infrastructure and energy infrastructure in emerging markets. He has led, executed, managed or exited thirteen transactions across wind power, commercial solar, telecommunications, education, healthcare and consumer sectors. He began his career at EFG Hermes Private Equity, investing in Egypt, Jordan and Turkey, then moved to structured finance at HSBC focusing on infrastructure project finance, and joined Actis in 2004 covering North Africa. He played a leadership role in the transaction under which management of the Middle East, Africa and Southeast Asia funds passed from Abraaj Capital to Actis in 2019.
