Managing Director, Middle East and North Africa

Nabil Shahin is Managing Director for the Middle East and North Africa at the Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute. AHRI is an American industry body that sets performance standards for air conditioning and refrigeration equipment and runs the certification programmes by which manufacturers’ efficiency claims are measured; building codes in many countries reference it, which turns certification into a supply condition rather than a marketing badge. He has more than twenty-five years in the sector across technical and commercial roles: Director of International Development at Johnson Controls, and Sales Business Unit Director for the Middle East and Africa at Daikin for six years. His experience runs from product research, development, design and testing through manufacturing and marketing, and from American and European regulation to its regional counterparts. He holds a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Tennessee State University.
