Musaed Alzahrani is an otolaryngologist in the Department of Otolaryngology at King Fahad Specialist Hospital in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, holding MBBS and MD degrees. He is the lead author, with colleagues from King Fahad Medical City in Riyadh and King Abdullah Medical City in Makkah, of the guidelines for cochlear implantation in Saudi Arabia published in the Saudi Medical Journal in December 2021. The guidelines set unified clinical practice recommendations for adult and pediatric cochlear implantation in Ministry of Health hospitals, including bilateral implantation for adults and children with bilateral severe to profound hearing loss and a minimum age of nine months for children.
