Jungbin Kim
Assistant Professor, Department of Environmental Science
Jungbin Kim is an assistant professor in the Department of Environmental Science at Wenzhou-Kean University, which he joined in 2023, and he directs the university's Center for Sustainable Environmental and Ecosystem Research. Before that he was a research professor at Korea University, where he also completed his BSc and PhD in civil, environmental and architectural engineering. His research focuses on artificial-intelligence-driven desalination and water reuse through advanced membrane processes. He has published more than 20 papers in SCIE-indexed journals and holds applied and granted patents in environmental processes. He leads several research projects as principal investigator, among them one supported by the Research Fund for International Young Scientists of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, on semi-batch reverse osmosis scaling mechanisms studied through a machine-learning-based scaling index. He is a special issue editor of the journal Desalination and a committee member of the IDRA Young Leaders Program, and he has been recognised with the Korea Young Talent Award and the Zhejiang Young Talent Award.
