Hussain Al Nasser
Sustainability and Advanced Materials Researcher
Hussain Al Nasser is a researcher at the Saudi Water Authority, working within its Sustainability and Advanced Materials Department. He holds a bachelor's degree in Nanoscience and Technology, a master's degree in Nanotechnology and a PhD in Electrochemistry; his doctoral research addressed electroanalysis and the electrosynthesis of composite nanofilms for advanced filtration applications. His current research centres on water quality and water-material chemistry, with particular emphasis on disinfection processes. It also includes the development of electrochemical systems for boron removal and recovery, the electrochemical oxidation of bromide to bromine from brine water, and the design of sensors for urgent and emerging pollutants. His work integrates electrochemistry, nanomaterials and environmental engineering to advance innovative and sustainable solutions for the water sector.
