Eiman Alkhadhir's doctoral research in the Warsinger Water Lab at Purdue University covers membrane distillation and thermal systems, under the advisorship of David Warsinger. Membrane distillation drives water vapour across a hydrophobic membrane using a temperature difference rather than applied pressure, which lets it treat very saline feed streams and run on low grade or waste heat. The laboratory works on technologies of this kind alongside reverse osmosis, nanofiltration, ultrafiltration and selective gas separation, and its work is carried out within Purdue's Herrick Laboratories. A bachelor's and a master's degree from Kuwait University preceded the doctorate, and the doctoral study at Purdue is supported by a fellowship from the Embassy of the State of Kuwait.
