Dahiru U. Lawal

Senior Research Scientist

Dahiru U. Lawal works at the Interdisciplinary Research Center for Membranes and Water Security in Dhahran, and is also affiliated with the Mechanical Engineering Department. He earned both his PhD and his MSc in mechanical engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals. His research covers membrane and thermal desalination, wastewater treatment, the thermodynamic analysis of thermal systems, renewable energy applications in desalination, atmospheric water harvesting and zero liquid discharge systems. He has published extensively in leading international journals and holds more than thirty filed and granted US and WO patents, and he has taught and supervised undergraduate and graduate students in materials science, thermal desalination and related engineering fields. His work has been recognised with the university's Early Career Research Award and with Highly Cited Paper Awards.
