Chief Officer, Innovation and Resiliency

Bart Weiss is Chief Officer for Innovation and Resiliency at Hillsborough County Public Utilities in Florida, where his work covers recycled water and the long-term resilience of supply. He has more than 30 years in the water sector and nearly two decades of engagement with the WateReuse Association, which elected him its president in 2023. He created the Southern Hillsborough Aquifer Recharge Project and spearheaded the first direct potable reuse demonstration project in the State of Florida, and he co-chaired the Florida Potable Reuse Commission, the body that produced a framework for implementing potable reuse in the state. The WateReuse Association named him its Person of the Year in 2016.
