Abedalkader Alkhouzaam
Assistant Research Scientist
Abedalkader Alkhouzaam holds a doctorate in environmental engineering. His research addresses sustainable water treatment and desalination, the repurposing of end-of-life membranes, membrane-based gas separation and multifunctional coatings, and extends to nanocomposite membranes for ultrafiltration and nanofiltration, mixed matrix membranes and ionic liquid membranes. His published work with colleagues in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Qatar University includes the functionalisation of graphene oxide with polydopamine for use as a nanofiller, its incorporation into polysulfone ultrafiltration membranes, and studies of end-of-life reverse osmosis membranes and of surface damage in thin-film composite membranes. He has led research programmes across Qatar University, Texas A&M University at Qatar and Hamad Bin Khalifa University.
