Dr. Yousef Alshammari

President

Dr. Yousef Alshammari serves as President of the London College of Energy Economics in the United Kingdom, an academic institution affiliated with the global Energy Institute and specialised in training cadres in energy economics and the analysis of oil markets and renewable energy. He also serves as Honorary Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) at Imperial College London, and is the Founder, CEO, and Head of Energy Strategy at CMarkits, a London-based energy-markets analytics firm. Dr. Alshammari is recognised among the world's top 50 energy analysts, a LinkedIn Top Voice in economics, and one of the leading forecasters according to S&P Global's ranking. His analysis is widely featured across major international economic media, with regular appearances on Bloomberg, CNBC, Reuters, EuroNews, CNN, and Al Arabiya, while his views are quoted by S&P Platts and Energy Intelligence. He is the recipient of OPEC's Best Young Energy Professional Award and previously served as a Research Fellow at the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) in Vienna. Dr. Alshammari earned his PhD in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College London between 2009 and 2014, where his research focused on producing clean energy through hydrothermal gasification of hydrocarbons.
