Wael Safwat

Trustee of the CIPS Global Board and Chair of the Global Membership Committee

Wael Safwat is Middle East lead for sustainable procurement and value chain at Accenture, a trustee of the CIPS global board and chair of its global membership committee. His experience spans more than twenty nine years, during which he held chief procurement officer roles across North America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific for Fortune 500 companies and large regional groups, and served as director of procurement for North America at the Canadian contracting firm Black & McDonald. He was the first chartered fellow in procurement and supply in North America and the seventh worldwide, chairs the CIPS MENA fellows and previously chaired its Canada branch. In 2016 he received the leadership award of the board of directors of the Supply Chain Management Association Ontario.
