Saad AlGarni is Head of Cybersecurity at Saudi Global Ports, the operator of the second container terminal at King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam, one of the Kingdom’s largest ports on the Arabian Gulf. Port security is a distinctive case in this field because it spans both administrative IT and heavy operational systems: quay and gantry cranes, terminal operating systems, container tracking and automated gates. A failure in any of them does not merely disrupt a network but halts an entire supply chain, which is part of why ports have become among the most targeted logistics assets globally in recent years.
