Mohammed Shoukat Ali is General Manager and Head of the Global Cybersecurity Centre of Excellence at Yokogawa of Japan. His position places cybersecurity inside the manufacturer itself rather than in a layer added on top of its products, a fundamental shift in this sector: operators now require security built into the product and supported across its long lifecycle, where control systems were once designed on the assumption of an isolated network that no longer exists.
