Mohammed Alghamdi
General Director of Nursing, Ministry of Health
Dr. Mohammed bin Gharamallah Alghamdi has served as General Director of Nursing Affairs at the Saudi Ministry of Health since September 2017, and chairs the board of the Saudi Nurses Association. He began his career at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre, where he headed the coronary care unit and supervised emergency departments before directing nursing services there between 2000 and 2002. He then led nursing in the Taif region from 2002 to 2005, and returned to the ministry's General Directorate of Nursing Affairs as director of research and practice development between 2011 and 2013. He holds a doctorate in health leadership and nursing services management from the University of San Diego in the United States (2017), a master's degree in the same field from Jordan University of Science and Technology (2009), a bachelor's degree in nursing sciences from the University of Jordan (2006) and a higher diploma in nursing from King Abdulaziz University. He received the Nursing Excellence Award from the Health Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council States in June 2013.
