He has spent his career bridging academic information security research and its industrial application, a route not often travelled: carrying what a laboratory produces into a product an industrial facility will buy and run under its own conditions. swIDch works on authentication technologies that require no network connection at the moment of verification, a question that matters in industrial environments and remote sites where a permanent link to a central authentication server cannot be assumed, and where many authentication solutions designed for an always-connected world do not apply.
