Senior Advisor – Middle East and North Africa

An international arbitrator, mediator, legal consultant, academic and international expert in alternative dispute resolution, institutional development and organisational excellence. He holds several senior positions, including Senior Advisor for the Middle East and North Africa at the Singapore International Dispute Resolution Academy (SIDRA) and Vice President of the International Court at the OIC Arbitration Centre. He is a senior expert in alternative dispute resolution with the Commercial Law Development Program of the U.S. Department of Commerce and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He has extensive international experience in drafting and managing government contracts, procurement and projects and in resolving the disputes arising from them, and has chaired and served on arbitral tribunals in disputes involving construction, infrastructure, supply and service contracts and numerous government projects across the region, alongside specialised experience in negotiation, mediation, arbitration, risk management and dispute avoidance. He has designed and delivered training programmes and workshops for judges, arbitrators, mediators, consultants and practitioners, and has trained contracts and procurement officers in negotiation skills. He holds two doctoral degrees in international commercial arbitration and international business administration and two master’s degrees in international commercial arbitration and in mediation and international commercial dispute resolution, and has authored numerous publications and research papers in both Arabic and English.
