Walaa Omar AlBenayan is a Saudi healthcare leader and pharmaceutical scientist whose career spans academia and the biopharmaceutical industry. She pursued advanced training in the United States, earning a master's degree and a doctorate in pharmaceutical sciences and drug design, followed by postdoctoral research in experimental medicine at KAIMRC and an academic appointment at Alfaisal University. She moved into medical affairs in 2019 and now leads regional medical and scientific strategy across several therapeutic areas including neurology, immunology, psychiatry and rare disease. Her work focuses on translating complex science into real-world clinical impact, strengthening medical excellence and building high-performing cross-functional teams. She holds several executive and leadership certifications from global institutions, and is an active mentor and public speaker committed to advancing women leaders in healthcare and science.
