Umaru Kwairanga

Chairman

Umaru Kwairanga has been chairman of the Nigerian Exchange Group since October 2022. He is a capital market professional with thirty years of experience across banking, pensions, manufacturing and commerce. Before chairing the group he served as a council member of the Nigerian Stock Exchange and as a director of the group's board, and he is a council member of the Institute of Directors of Nigeria. He sits on the boards of companies including Ashaka Cement, Jaiz Bank, Tangerine APT Pensions and FBN Senegal, and is managing director of the investment bank Finmal Finance Services. His agenda for the Nigerian market emphasises deeper liquidity, stronger competitiveness, alignment with international standards, better corporate governance and investor protection, and wider access to capital for companies at every stage of growth.
