Stuart Swann qualified as a primary teacher in 1995 and holds a BEd. Across 30 years, constructionism, innovation and play have been at the heart of his work. In the classroom he led music and ICT and developed a computing curriculum centred on project-based learning, and in 2011 he co-founded IE Solutions, an educational technology consultancy that helps schools develop and implement computing curricula. He has been a LEGO Education Academy Certified Trainer since 2011, facilitating training in primary and secondary schools and delivering keynotes, training and workshops in Europe, Africa, the Caribbean and the Middle East, and he has developed curriculum content for many LEGO Education resources while helping to train and certify new teacher trainers. In 2025 he worked as an educational content writer at LEGO Education on its Computer Science and AI products. He is a former Vice Chair of the National Association for Primary Education.
