Abdelrahman Farahat
Head of the Islamic Education Department
Abdelrahman Farahat is an educator and NPQSL-qualified school leader with more than 11 years of experience teaching and leading Islamic Education in diverse school contexts in the United Arab Emirates. He holds a bachelor’s degree in education, specializing in Islamic Studies, from Al-Azhar University, and he completed the National Professional Qualification for Senior Leadership in the United Kingdom, in addition to professional leadership training with Harvard University. As Head of the Islamic Education Department he leads strategic curriculum development, coaches and mentors teachers, designs assessment systems and oversees quality assurance and school improvement initiatives, with an evidence-informed approach focused on teaching quality, student outcomes and sustainable impact. His work centres on student-centred learning, critical thinking and the purposeful integration of Visible Thinking strategies within Islamic Education. He is also a master’s researcher in curricula and teaching methods, studying the impact of visible thinking strategies on students’ critical thinking skills, and he works to bridge classical Islamic knowledge with contemporary educational practice in a values-driven vision of education.
