Steve Suarez

Steve Suarez is Founder and CEO of HorizonX, a strategy and innovation consultancy with offices in London and Dubai that helps organisations harness emerging technologies, working from the premise that innovation should be a discipline rather than a department. Before founding HorizonX he was Global Head of Innovation, Global Functions at HSBC, where he led enterprise-wide programmes to accelerate digital transformation, capping roughly two decades inside a global bank. He brings more than 30 years of experience across consulting, telecommunications and financial services, with earlier senior roles at Bain & Company, Mitsubishi Corporation and QuSecure. He is a board director at the quantum software company Classiq, a senior advisor on emerging technology to McKinsey & Company, and a former UK board member of the neutral-atom quantum computing firm QuEra Computing. He co-founded The Quantum Index, a global benchmarking initiative that ranks enterprise quantum readiness across industries, and is a guest lecturer on the MIT xPro executive programme on quantum computing strategy and impact. A US Army veteran, he holds an MBA and has completed executive education at Harvard Business School and MIT Sloan.
