Ramzy Abdelaziz

Staff Scientist

Ramzy Abdelaziz is a staff scientist at the Nanomicroscopy Center of Aalto University in Finland, where his work explores natural structures at the nanoscale. He earned his PhD in nanotechnology from Kiel University in Germany and received the European Materials Research Society’s Young Scientist Award in 2014, and he has more than 30 publications in journals including Nature Communications and Advanced Materials. Alongside his research he runs an educational ecosystem that reaches more than 25 million learners each month, and he was named among Europe’s Top 10 Most Influential Education Leaders by CIOLook in 2025. He founded DoubleIN, an initiative bridging technology, curiosity and meaningful learning, and through his Inspiring-Based Learning philosophy and the 1000 Inspiring Teachers program he has trained more than 50,000 educators to design lessons that connect science, creativity and life. He promotes what he calls translational leadership, ensuring that scientific innovation benefits education and society.
