Manuel Costescu

Manuel Costescu is a managing director at J.P. Morgan, based in London, where he leads the bank's global fintech franchise within the corporate bank and co-heads the innovation economy team serving the fastest growing fintech, SaaS and e-commerce companies across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He holds an MBA from MIT Sloan, a bachelor's degree in international development from the Harvard Kennedy School and a bachelor's degree in economics from Brandeis University. He began his career as a strategy consultant at McKinsey & Company in New York and as a banker at J.P. Morgan covering European public sector clients, later serving as an executive director of the bank's London subsidiary responsible for business with central banks, development banks, treasuries and government agencies. He also served as a member of the Romanian parliament and state secretary for trade and investment, reforming the country's investment agency and advising the prime minister on economic matters during diplomatic missions.
